Charity film to encourage volunteering in sport

Join In specialise in recruiting volunteers for local youth clubs and sport centres nationwide. This short promotion film was created to raise awareness and support their media campaign.

Established following the success of the 2012 Olympics in London, the charity Join In specialising in recruiting volunteers to help in all aspects of local sports clubs. Headed by Eddie Izzard, their brand ambassador and Dave Moorcroft (former 5,000m world record holder) the ‘goal’ was to promote volunteers as the unsung heroes of sport. The film highlighted the need for volunteers, the diversity of roles required and the various sports. It encouraged people to use the website, search within their local area to find a local sports clubs and suitable role.

After a successful six years, Join In has now become part of ‘The Sport and Recreation Alliance’.

Supplied Assets / Early Storyboard

Taking a lead from the main brand colour palette, various marketing materials and the website, a storyboard was created using images of sporting heroes, active volunteers and young aspiring sports tars. Icons were used to represent various sports creating a narrative to the piece. Shown above is a sample of an early WIP.
